All about Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

The SVJ is the final (we’ll see if it’s really final final) edition of the Aventador before the new redesign V12 flagship debuts. 700+ horsepower seems to be the magic number now a days to be competitive on the Nurburgring track and everyone is doing time attack to lay claim to fast time to sell their cars. The Aventador SVJ goes in 6:44:97 around the Nurburgring, just under 3 seconds from the previous holder, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS (which is also $200,000 cheaper). The OLD Aventador is going out on a high note but not sure how many people care really anymore being that it’s the same old car with more flair. Bigger wing from the SV with ALA magic, more aggressive front end again with ALA magic, bigger side vents, but the same old tired and slow single-clutch ISR transmission. Mercedes is coming out with the very exclusive AMG One, but they will not do a time attack on the Nurburgring. Imagine spending $2 – $3 million on it and the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is still faster or almost as fast. Mercedes said they are not interested as they noted (and as I) that time can vary based on driver. You can technically have the best car every made but if the driver cannot extract every ounce of performance out of the car, what’s the point. There aren’t many professional journalist reviews on the Aventador SVJ so updates will come. Enjoy what’s out there now.
