2016 Toyota Tacoma comes with a new 4×4 feature called crawl. This enables off-roading drivers extra security when they get stuck in sand. Like at the beach or where ever. Weird thing, the Tacoma still comes with drum brakes in the rear. The technical representative from Toyota explains why. It’s because of dust and sand from off-roading, you don’t want all the disc brakes to have sand stuck in the caliper and disc. Also people who buy Tacoma or compact pick-up trucks rarely ever tow so no need for stronger disc brakes.
