I also use Mobil 1 synthetic oil… And I drive a basic sedan. It’s more expensive but it can last up to 20,000 miles vs conventional oil that lasts around 5,000 miles. You can tell by the color of the oil. If it’s really dark, it’s time for change.

Engines are getting smaller, fitted with turbos, and higher compression. This leads to quicker oil degradation. Use full synthetic oils.
